There’s a quiet intelligence that lives in our lower belly — a knowing that speaks not in words but in sensations, pulses, warmth, or tension. For many of us, this space holds stories — of cycles, birth, grief, trauma, power, pleasure, or disconnection.
Over the years, I’ve found that gently tending to the womb space is one of the most beautiful ways to reconnect to ourselves. Whether you’re working through painful periods, recovering from emotional or physical trauma, or simply wanting to feel more rooted, I’d love to share some practices that have supported me and the women I work with.
Moxa: Warming the Womb with Ancient Fire
There’s something incredibly soothing about moxa — the earthy smell of mugwort, the slow warmth sinking into the skin. I use it often in my practice, and personally, when I feel cold in my belly or a kind of energetic “disconnect.”
You simply hold a lit moxa stick near points like the lower abdomen (especially just below the navel) and let the heat gently penetrate. It’s amazing for nourishing blood flow, warming the uterus, and helping your body feel supported from the inside out. I call it a hug made of fire.
Castor Oil Packs: Softening, Releasing, Restoring
Castor oil is one of those simple, grandmotherly remedies that I return to again and again. When I feel stuckness — emotionally or physically — a warm castor oil pack on my belly helps me exhale.
It’s a way to unwind not just tension, but old emotions. I lie down, put on some music or silence, and let the oil work its magic. It’s especially helpful for menstrual discomfort, fibroids, or sluggish digestion, but I also use it just to ground and soften.
Gentle Touch: Reclaiming the Power of Your Hands
Sometimes we forget that our own touch can heal. A slow massage of the lower belly — clockwise circles, soft presence — helps bring energy back to this space.
Even five minutes before bed with a warm oil can shift everything. I often pair this with a few deep belly breaths and a little intention: “I am listening to you.” “It’s safe to be here.” Over time, it creates a relationship with the womb, not just a routine.
Meditation: Hearing the Quiet Voice
Meditation doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s just closing your eyes, placing a hand on your womb, and breathing. The womb responds to presence.
I often guide women to connect with their cycle, their creative energy, or simply the feeling tone of the day. You don’t need answers — just attention. It’s in the slowing down that clarity starts to rise.
This Isn’t a Fix – It’s a Reconnection
I’m not here to tell you these tools will “fix” you. They’re not magic bullets — but they are bridges. They’re invitations to remember that your womb is not just a reproductive organ. It’s a center of wisdom.
Start where you are. Add one ritual a week. Let it be gentle.
If you want more support, I offer 1:1 womb healing sessions — where we listen to what your body truly needs and create a plan that feels aligned. I also guide group journeys and share these practices in online community classes.
You’re not meant to do this alone.
With love from my womb to yours.
